Carl Price, Managing Director and founder of Future Acquisition Company LLC, has more than 40 years of experience building, managing, and growing successful oil and gas companies. He founded his first energy company, Future Petroleum Corporation, in 1985. He later merged with Bargo Energy in 1998 and served on Bargo's executive leadership team until the company was sold to Bellwether Exploration in 2001 for more than $200 million. In 2002, Carl founded Future Petroleum Company LLC, which was sold in 2013 with reserves exceeding 12 million BOE. Future Acquisition Company LLC was founded in 2013 with an acquisition out of bankruptcy in North Dakota. The acquisition offered multiple drilling locations, DUC completions and fracing opportunities. These operations were completed including establishing a refrac program that proved economic for the Three Forks formation. Future Acquisition Company sold its North Dakota assets in 2021.
Throughout his career, Carl built teams with expertise in geology, engineering, and land, enabling successful acquisitions, exploitation of acquired assets, and drilling programs that have generated value in excess of $300 million and reserves greater than 85 million BOE. He relied on his experiences in land management, contract negotiations, aggressive product marketing strategies such as hedges and floors, physical and forward contracting, portfolio management. His financial responsibilities have included credit facilities, equity investment negotiations, and mergers.
In addition to his energy career, Carl is a Fourth-generation operator of a cow calf ranching operation marketing hundreds of feeder cattle annually. The ranch has been in his family since 1907.
